How the match actually works
The logic is simple and has a safety net. Exact area-code match gets used first. No exact match but you’ve got another number from the same region? It uses that. Nothing regional available? It falls back to your sub-account’s default number so the call still goes through. You’re never not calling — you’re just calling from the most familiar number you have.
Turning it on takes one toggle
Head to your sub-account’s Phone Numbers settings, into Advanced Settings for Voice Calls and outbound, and flip Enable Local Presence Dialing on. That’s it. It works with your verified caller IDs too. It’s a US and Canada feature, and you can still override the number for a specific call from the dialer when you want to.
One honest caveat worth setting: a local number makes people more likely to answer, not guaranteed to. Pair it with a clean caller ID and a real reason to call, and the lift is real.
